Single Camera & Fullscreen

From the camera grid you can focus on a single camera, open it fullscreen in higher quality, and pinch to zoom. This page also explains how the app keeps live streams reliable.

Single camera and fullscreen

Tap a camera to open a larger single view. On tablets and iPads, details can be shown inline alongside the grid.
Open fullscreen to play a high-definition stream in a full-screen view, with pinch-to-zoom and pan and a zoom-out control. Fullscreen coordinates with the device’s status and navigation bars, and the Android back button exits it.

Stream quality

To balance clarity against bandwidth, the app uses a standard-definition (SD) stream for the grid tiles and switches to high-definition (HD) when you open a camera fullscreen.

How streams stay reliable

Live video over mobile networks is unpredictable, so the app is built to recover on its own:

Auto-recovery - if a stream drops, the app retries with increasing back-off delays rather than hammering the server, and a successful reconnection resets the back-off so future drops recover quickly.
Stall detection - if frames stop arriving, the loading spinner reappears and the app re-establishes the feed; a maximum spinner time stops it spinning forever.
Network awareness - streams pause and restart as the network drops and returns, ignoring brief flaps.
Status-aware - offline or disabled cameras don’t try to stream and show a no stream message instead; when a camera comes back online, it starts automatically.

Note: A tile only streams when it’s the active view and the app is in the foreground. Streams pause when you background the app, enter fullscreen on another camera, or scroll the tile off the active page - which keeps resource use in check.
