BUS Devices
BUS devices are sub-devices attached to a controller - for example, Modbus slaves, sensor modules, and BUS expansion units. Rather than appearing as standalone rows in the Controllers grid, they are represented as a count in the BUS column. Each BUS device hosts its own sensors, which appear in the Peripherals view.
Opening the BUS table
In the Controllers view, click the number in the BUS column of an online controller. A dialog opens listing all BUS sub-devices attached to that controller. The title reads BUS for standard controllers and Slaves for Modbus IP controllers.
BUS table columns

Identification LED
Each BUS device has a physical LED that can be toggled remotely to help locate the unit in a rack or enclosure.
- Toggle the LED on or off by selecting a BUS device in the table and using the LED toggle.
- The BUS count cell in the Controllers grid blinks when any child BUS device has its LED active, giving you a visual indicator at the controller level without opening the table.
Adding a BUS device (Modbus controllers only)
For Modbus IP controllers, new BUS devices (Modbus slaves) can be added manually from the BUS table.
Open the BUS table
In the Controllers view, click the BUS count on a Modbus IP controller that is online.
Click Add
Click the Add button in the BUS table toolbar.
Configure the Modbus slave
Enter the connection and identification details for the new Modbus slave device.
Save
Click Save. The BUS device appears in the table and its sensors become discoverable in the Peripherals view.
Deleting a BUS device
BUS devices with New status can be deleted from the BUS table. Select the device and click Delete, then confirm.
Deletion removes all attached peripherals
Deleting a BUS device removes all sensors and outputs hosted on that device from Supracontrol. This cannot be undone.
