Editing and Deleting Notifications

This guide covers how to modify an existing notification and how to remove notifications you no longer need.

Editing a notification

Who can edit?

RoleCan edit
Owner (creator)Can always edit their own notifications
Administrator / Owner roleCan edit any notification
BU AdminCan edit notifications within their own Business Unit
Regular userCannot edit notifications they did not create

Edit steps

Select the notification

Go to Settings → Application Notifications and click the notification row you want to edit to select it.

Open the edit dialog

Click the Edit button in the toolbar, or double-click the row to open the edit dialog directly.

Make your changes

The edit dialog opens with the same tabs as the create dialog: General, Triggers, Schedule, Recipients, and Channels. Make your changes across the tabs.

Note: The notification Type (Alarm / Audit / System) cannot be changed after a notification is created.

Save

Click Save to apply the changes.

Edit button states

The Edit button is disabled when:

Delete a single notification

Select the notification

Click the row of the notification you want to delete.

Delete and confirm

Click the Delete button in the toolbar. A confirmation dialog appears - click Confirm to permanently delete the notification.

Delete multiple notifications

Select multiple rows

Hold Ctrl (or Cmd on Mac) and click each row, or use the checkboxes if visible, to select multiple notifications.

Delete and confirm

Click the Delete button in the toolbar and confirm the bulk deletion in the confirmation dialog.

Deletion is permanent

Deleted notifications cannot be restored. Any alerts that would have been triggered by the deleted notification will no longer fire.

Finding a notification

Use the search bar in the toolbar to filter the list by notification name or owner. The search filters in real time as you type. You can also click column headers to sort the list, making it easier to locate a specific notification in large deployments.
