Introduction

v2.20.1

Overview

The Events section (internally the Alarm Center) is where operators review everything that has happened in the system. It is a tabbed area in the main application shell, sitting alongside Dashboard, Map, Video, Devices, Access Control, Automation, and Administration.

The section has two tabs:

TabWhat it does
AlarmsThe event log - a filterable, paginated table of every alarm and event the system has recorded: sensor readings, access events, door and lock state changes, camera motion, device connectivity changes, and more
Audit LogsThe system change log - a record of every create, update, and delete operation performed on entities such as users, licences, devices, cameras, and schedules, showing the before and after values for each change

The Audit Logs tab and its navigation button are only shown to BU Admins and Administrators. A user with the plain User role sees only the Alarms tab, with no tab switcher visible.

Click Events in the main application tab bar to open the module. The Alarms tab opens by default.

Path: Events → Alarms / Audit Logs

If you have BU Admin or Administrator rights, two pill buttons appear at the top of the page - Alarms and Audit Logs - to switch between the tabs. Selecting a tab also switches the active filter set in the filter drawer, so each tab remembers its own filter state independently.

When a dialog elsewhere in the application (such as an access-user detail or a camera detail) sends you to the Events module via Open in tab, the Alarms tab opens pre-filtered to that user or camera. The active filter is shown in the page header as Events - [user name]. Any subsequent filter change clears that suffix.

Filter drawer

Both tabs share a collapsible filter drawer. Open it by clicking the filter icon at the top left of the page. The drawer shows the filters available for the active tab:

Each tab’s enabled-filter selection and the expanded or collapsed state of each filter group are saved in your browser and restored the next time you open that tab.

The bottom status bar shows live record counts for the active tab:

Counts are formatted with thousand separators.

See Alarms, Audit Logs, Event Actions, and Export and Column Settings for detailed documentation on each tab and its features.
