Video Wall
The Video Wall lets you save named multi-camera layouts - called walls - and instantly switch between them. Each wall has a fixed number of camera slots defined by its layout. One wall is active at a time; multiple walls can coexist.
Selecting a wall
The filter drawer contains a single-select wall picker. Your last-used wall is automatically restored when you return to this tab. Use the picker to switch between walls.
If no walls exist, the view shows an empty state with a prompt to create the first wall.
Wall layouts
Each wall is created with one of eight fixed layouts. The layout determines how many camera slots the grid contains:
| Layout | Slots |
|---|---|
| 1 | 1 (single full-size camera) |
| 4 | 4 (2×2) |
| 6 | 6 |
| 9 | 9 (3×3) |
| 10 | 10 |
| 13 | 13 |
| 16 | 16 (4×4) |
| 25 | 25 (5×5) |
The layout cannot be changed after a wall is saved unless you edit the wall. Reducing the layout to fewer slots than the current camera count clears all cameras - you must re-add them.
Slot grid
The grid renders one slot per layout position. Each slot is either filled or empty:
- Filled slot: Renders a live streaming player identical to Camera List cards. Mouse over the card to reveal the in-slot action menu (see below)
- Empty slot: Shows the slot number and a green Add camera button. The button is only visible to the wall’s owner
Camera card: in-slot actions
Mouse over any filled camera slot to reveal its action menu. All actions from the Camera List are available (see Camera List - In-card actions), plus one additional action specific to the Video Wall:
| Action | What it does | When available |
|---|---|---|
| Remove from wall | Removes this camera card from the slot, leaving it empty | Owner only. Blocked if this is the last remaining card in the wall |
Drag-and-drop reordering
Drag any filled camera card and drop it onto another slot. The dragged card and the target slot’s card swap positions. The reorder is saved immediately - no confirmation dialog is shown.
Toolbar
The toolbar also includes an Add (+) button that opens the Create Video Wall dialog.
| Icon | Action | Description | When available |
|---|---|---|---|
| - | Diagnostic | Toggles the streaming diagnostic overlay on every slot (per-user, persisted) | Disabled when no walls exist |
| - | Aspect ratio | Keeps each slot’s natural camera aspect ratio. Session-only - resets on navigation | - |
| - | Motion grid | Overlays the motion-detection grid and line-crossing detector on every filled slot | Disabled when no wall is selected |
| - | Open in window | Opens the current wall in a separate browser window | Disabled when no wall is selected |
| Edit wall | Opens the Edit Wall dialog to change the name, layout, cameras, or sharing | Disabled when the wall is shared to the current user (view-only) | |
| Delete wall | Opens a confirmation dialog and permanently deletes the current wall | Disabled when the wall is shared to the current user |
Ownership and sharing
Each wall has an owner (the user who created it). Walls can be shared with other users:
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | View, edit, delete, reorder cards, add/remove cameras, share the wall |
| Shared recipient | View only - Edit and Delete toolbar buttons are disabled; empty-slot ”+” buttons are hidden |
A shared wall is identified by Private = false and the current user appearing in the SharedWith list. Shared walls appear in the wall picker alongside the owner’s walls.
