Playback

The Playback tab is where operators review recorded footage and alarm-triggered clips. You select a date and camera, then navigate recordings using the interactive timeline, the events table, and the video player.

Alarms vs Continuous tabs

Playback shows two types of recordings on separate sub-tabs:

Switching sub-tabs pauses the player and reloads the camera’s timeline and table data.

Calendar

The calendar on the left lets you select a recording date:

• Dates with no recordings are greyed out and cannot be selected
• When you first open Playback, the most recent date with recordings is selected automatically
• Recording data for the selected date refreshes every 15 seconds in the background
• When viewing the current month, the calendar checks for newly available dates every 60 seconds

Selecting a date clears the current camera selection and loads all cameras that have recordings on that date.

Camera selector

The camera selector is a scrollable list of all cameras that have recordings on the selected date. Each row shows the camera name and a small timeline bar:

The bar spans 24 hours with hour markers at 00h, 02h, 04h, … 24h. Short adjacent segments are merged: video segments within 20 s of each other merge into one bar; log segments within 60 s merge. Alarm segments shorter than 1% of the day are widened slightly so they remain visible.

Click a camera row to load its recordings into the timeline, player, and table.

Big timeline

The big timeline shows all recordings for the selected camera across the selected day.

Navigating the timeline:

Segment colours match the VideoState of the recording (see VideoState reference).

Only Ready segments are interactive. Clicking a non-Ready segment does nothing.

Video player: in-player controls

Autoplay (Auto-forward): When enabled, the next clip plays automatically when the current one ends. Applies when Auto-forward is on in the toolbar, when the recording is continuous, or when an alarm log spans multiple recording files. The current clip is also auto-advanced when the video ends mid-clip due to a file boundary.

Events table

The table below the timeline lists all recordings for the selected camera, date, and sub-tab. Columns and their visibility are user-customisable (see Toolbar).

Table behaviour:

• Infinite scroll - rows load progressively as you scroll down
• Single selection - clicking a row selects it and deselects any other; the selected recording is loaded in the player and the timeline cursor moves to its position
• Non-Ready rows - greyed out and not clickable; the previous selection is restored if you click a non-Ready row

Search

The search bar filters the events table in real time. Search is applied across 11 fields:

• Created date, Start time, Duration
• Alarm name, Value
• Location, Access user
• Sensor type, Sensor name
• IP address, Annotation

Download and export

Filters

The filter drawer provides up to five filters. Filters with no applicable data are hidden automatically:

Filter selections and expanded/collapsed group states are saved in your browser and restored on your next session.

Only Ready recordings can be played in the player or selected for download.
