Event Actions
The Alarms tab provides several actions you can perform on individual event rows and from within the event detail panel. This article covers video playback, notification delivery status, and the unregistered access card workflow.
For the core table features - columns, filters, flagging, and notes - see Alarms.
Video playback
Camera-sourced events can have a recorded video clip attached. When a clip exists, the Video column in that row shows a camera icon. Click the icon to open the clip in the Playback view at the exact recording.
The icon colour indicates the current state of the clip:
| State | Icon colour | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Ready | Default | The clip has been fully processed and is ready to play |
| Processing | Blue (primary) | The clip is still being processed; it will be available shortly |
| Deleted | Red | The clip has been deleted and can no longer be played |
| Failed | Red | Recording or processing failed; the clip is not available |
Rows without a video clip show no icon in the Video column.
Delivery status
When the notification delivery feature is enabled in system settings, the Delivery column shows the outcome of email, SMS, and voice notification attempts for each event.
| Status | Icon | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Empty | - (no icon) | No notification was triggered for this event |
| Created | Envelope with check | Notification was created and queued for delivery |
| Sent | Single check | Notification was sent to the provider |
| Delivered | Double check | Notification was confirmed as delivered to the recipient |
| Error | - (no icon) | Delivery failed; no icon is shown but the status is recorded |
Click the icon to open the Delivery Details dialog, which shows a per-recipient breakdown of the notification outcome across all configured channels (email, SMS, voice).
Event detail panel
Click any row in the table (outside the flag, note, or video icon columns) to expand it and open the event detail panel. The panel shows contextual information about the event source - device, sensor, camera, or access user.
For access events, the panel also shows the access user’s name and avatar when the event is linked to a registered user.
Assigning an unregistered access card
When an access reader scans a card that is not registered in the system, an Unregistered card event is recorded in the Alarms tab. You can register the card or assign it to an existing user directly from the event detail panel without leaving the event log.
To register an unregistered card:
- Find the unregistered card event in the Alarms table. The Alarm column will show Unregistered card.
- Click the row to open the event detail panel.
- The panel shows the scanned card code and an Add user button.
- Click Add user. A picker appears with two options:
- New user - create a new access user and assign the card to them
- Existing user - select an existing access user and add the card to their profile
- For Existing user, choose the user from the list. If the selected user already has the maximum of 4 cards assigned, an info message is shown and you will need to choose a different user or remove an existing card first.
- Complete the user creation or update form that opens. The card code is pre-filled.
Once the card is registered, subsequent scans from that card will generate Access granted or Access denied events linked to the user.
